Adam Moyers Attorney

Adam has spent his entire career on complex and high profile cases, having tried over 25 jury trials and over 100 bench trials through to verdicts.  He has experience as lead counsel on complex and emotionally charged matters involving catastrophic injury and death.  During his time with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, Adam primarily specialized in Sex Crimes and Felony Motor Vehicle Fatalities. He also prosecuted multiple cases of first degree murder including three death penalty trials.  He has received specialized training in DNA analysis, Capital Litigation, Collision Reconstruction, and the presentation of expert medical testimony.  Adam has also instructed and given presentations on these topics for the NC District Attorney’s Conference, Interact, and to Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner conferences. 

Since joining Batten Lee, Adam has defended cases involving birth injuries, medical malpractice, wrongful death, nursing home/assisted living center liability, products liability, compounding pharmacies, personal injury, and University liability.  Adam has taken a lead role in developing and arguing complex pre-trial motions, jury trials, and has argued before the North Carolina Court of Appeals. 

 He has worked with state and Federal agencies while handling multistate compounding pharmacy recalls in Georgia and in Federal Court in Boston.  He has also participated in advising institutional clients on personnel matters and in responding to law enforcement investigations of incidents involving employees or physicians affiliated with those institutions.

 Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Adam graduated in 1998 from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in History.  He received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina, School of Law in 2002.  He is admitted to practice in North Carolina, South Carolina, the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
