Randy Lee Attorney

Randy is a former licensed physician and practiced as a board certified anesthesiologist before attending law school. Randy is involved in a national trial practice specializing in defense of claims against hospital networks, professional liability carriers, physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers relating to the acts of their subsidiaries and other affiliates.  

Randy represents hospitals, physicians, nursing homes and other health care providers in tort actions, as well as in professional licensing matters before government agencies. For the past seventeen years he has practiced extensively throughout the Southeast, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Because of his dual credentials and experience, he has ventured into some of the plaintiff-friendly venues in the Southeast in tough to defend cases with double-digit million dollar exposure. He is included in Best Lawyers in America, Best Lawyers in North Carolina and North Carolina Super lawyers in the field of Medical Malpractice. He has litigation and jury trial experience successfully defending catastrophic injury cases some of which had eight figure life care plans.

Originally from Sylvania, Georgia, Randy moved to Brooklyn, New York as a child, a combination which gives him Southern charm with City savvy. He attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate education. He then went on to complete medical school at the University of Cincinnati Medical School before completing a residency in anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Medical Center. He practiced as an anesthesiologist for several years before attending North Carolina Central School of Law at night, where he finished first in the evening program.

Randy is married to Kaja Heater, MD, is the father of their two children and currently serves on the local board of the American Red Cross.

 In addition, Randy represents clients in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including mediation, and has served as a mediator.
